Poetry Across Maine
Share your poems about specific locations in Maine. Those will be displayed on a map, which will serve as a reflection of Maine as it stands in this moment of climate and population flux, a living document of how people in Maine experience and reflect on our state as a place, from street corners in the Old Port to Acadia woods to the playground at the Southern Aroostook Community School in Dyer Brook. Like a self-guided tour at a museum, anyone can find those poems on a map wherever they happen to travel in Maine.
Poetry Across Maine encourages anyone and everyone to reflect on what it means to live in Maine. Poetry Across Maine welcomes original work in any language, from writers of all ages and walks of life.
We will not censor any poems, but we reserve the right to remove poems if they are plagiarized, computer generated, or if they contain content deemed offensive on the basis of race, sex, ethnicity, class, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
Please consider donating to help offset the costs of this project. All proceeds will go toward the website and promotional materials. If enough donations come in, they will help fund free community poetry workshops to help more people map the state of Maine.
